Description: | An antique Persian Heriz oriental rug, in room size, size 13'9"H x 7'9"W. This handsome oriental rug was hand-knotted by weavers in the northwestern Persian weaving region of Heriz in the early twentieth century, approximately circa 1920-1930. This one-of-a-kind rug features a stylized central medallion in the red primary field, with various geometric elements throughout, and with ivory reserves at either end, all enclosed within a scrolling foliate navy outer border. Composed of a 100% natural wool pile on a cotton foundation. In very good condition for its age, weaving style, and composition, with even medium-length wool pile throughout, and no significant areas of wear or distress.
