Antique Persian Tabriz Hadji Jalili Oriental Carpet, circa 1870, Mansion Sized

An enormous antique Persian Tabriz Hadji Jalili oriental carpet, circa 1870. Size: 35'8" x 22'0". This mansion sized antique decorative rug was handwoven by master weavers in Iran, using high quality wool, with an extraordinarily Fine weave. The carpet is characterized by an elegant central medallion on an inner bed of deep blue, with off-white corner spandrels and outer border. The medallion sits amidst a sea of finely rendered herati motifs, giving this gigantic master work both incredibly minute levels of detail, as well as a sweeping overall aesthetic. A masterpiece of design and execution. One of a kind. Excellent condition.
