A Flemish historical tapestry from the 17th century, featuring a scene in which a man at right kneels and makes a proposal to a woman at center, much to the shock and displeasure of her retinue. Possibly Henry V of England in his proposition to Catherine of France. Enclosed within an elaborate border, incorporating fruiting and flowering elements, and cartouches depicting women with satyrs and men with swords. Wool with silk inlay.
Hanging: The tapestry comes ready for hanging, with linen backing and a strip of hook and loop tape at the top end, which can be connected to the opposite side of the supplied hook and loop tape, which could be tacked to your wall.
