This hand-knotted antique decorative carpet emanates from the Northwestern Persian region of Hamadan, circa 1920. The rug is characterized by a repeating Herati motif in the navy blue central field, which features both floral and geometric design characteristics. The central field is encased within a red outer border with large design elements, offering a beautiful counterpoint to the symmetry of the central space. In very good condition for its age, weaving style, and composition, with minor wear and fading. 100% wool pile with thick density and pile height. A one of a kind antique carpet, with a highly sought after and delightful aesthetic. |
