Description: | Antique 17th Century Historical Tapestry, featuring the French King Charlemagne A 17th century Brussels baroque historical tapestry, size 12'5" H x 4'2" W, from the workshop of the renowned weaver Gerard Peemans, after cartoons by Jacob Jordaens. The tapestry depicts the French King Charlemagne appointing his son Louis the partner in his reign, and his other son Bernard the king of Italy. Titled in Latin, "LEGITIME CERTANTI," the tapestry also features the Brussels town mark in the lower right border. Wool with silk inlay. Excellent condition. An amazing find, and a great way to add color, elegance, and sophistication to your home decor!
Hanging: The tapestry comes ready for hanging, with linen backing and a strip of hook and loop tape at the top end, which can be connected to the opposite side of the supplied hook and loop tape, which could be tacked to your wall.
